The Optimist Safety City complex is located at 700 S. Collett Street in Lima. This partnership between the Lima Noon Optimists and the Lima Police Department began in 1976 and has benefited thousands of school age children.  Local schools bring children to the Safety Academy for bike safety, fire safety, rural and urban traffic issues as well as “stranger” education.  In 2006 we adopted the radKIDS (which is one of the most state of the art child safety training programs available in the United States). Officer Matt Douglass from the Lima Police Department coordinates this project.  Matt can be reached at 419.221.5269.

Registration for the 2017 Safety City summer academy is closed. Thanks to everyone who is participating!
