The Lima Noon Optimist Club co-sponsors the local Toys for Tots campaign with the Salvation Army and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Activity begins in mid-November when barrels are placed at area businesses for new toys. Yearly, the Salvation Army collects and distributes over 14,000 toys to needy families. Barrel locations include Lima fire stations, Tom Ahl Chrysler Plymouth Dodge, Toys ‘R Us, Century Lanes and many other locations. .
